GHANA'S HIGH COMMISSIONER TO SOUTH AFRICA, H.E. MR. GEORGE AYISI-BOATENG PRESENTS HIS LETTERS OF CREDENCE TO SOUTH AFRICAN PRESIDENT
At a very colourful and solemn ceremony, Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, H.E. Mr. George Ayisi-Boateng presented his Letters of Credence to South African President, H.E. Mr. Jacob Zuma at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Thursday, 24th August, 2017.
H.E. Mr. George Ayisi-Boateng conveyed greetings from the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to South African President, H.E. Mr. Jacob Zuma, and affirmed his commitment to carry Ghana’s relations with South Africa forward for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
At his side, at the ceremony was his beautiful wife Mrs. Linda Ayisi-Boateng.
Until his appointment as High Commissioner, H.E. Mr. Ayisi-Boateng was a Business Executive, a philanthropist and a social advocate who has contributed significantly to nation-building. As a respected Community Leader, he has served as Board Chairman of several schools in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, and also served as a patron of the Ghana Red Cross Society, Young People’s Guild and the Brigade of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
H.E. Mr. Ayisi-Boateng has been involved in the petrochemical industry of Ghana for over three decades, and has been an Ex-Director/Board Member of Tema Oil Refinery for eight (8) years, and also the Managing Director of the Asafo GOIL Service Station, as well as Georgelin General Merchants Ltd. in Kumasi.
A cross-section of the Ghanaian Community in Johannesburg and Pretoria, as well as a couple of African Ambassadors in South Africa, joined the staff of the Ghana High Commission to receive the High Commissioner at his residence after the presentation of credentials ceremony.
The 2nd Ghana Awards–South Africa takes place on Saturday, 26th August, 2017, at 6:00pm at the Asanka Restaurant, Corner Rivonia Rd. & Mutual Rd, Sandton, and Johannesburg.
The ceremony will recognize and reward Ghanaians who are based in South Africa, and who exhibit excellence in all areas of life including business, sports, entertainment, public service, the arts, charitable works and various professions.
The public nominates outstanding candidates in pre-selected categories, which are then short-listed by a panel of
experts, and then submitted for voting by the general public.
Ghana Awards is a laudable initiative that is organized and vigorously participated by the expanse of Ghanaian Community in South Africa, with the support of the Ghana High Commission.
The High Commission wishes all nominees the best of luck at the upcoming event.
