2017 06 29 PHOTO 00000008As part of preparations towards the Ghana Diaspora Homecoming Summit scheduled to be held in Accra, Ghana from 5th to 8th July, 2017, a cross-section of Ghanaian Professionals in South Africa held a preliminary forum on 24th June, 2017, to consolidate views and expert opinions on various sectors of the Ghanaian economy, and its translation and contribution towards a development agenda at the upcoming Diaspora Homecoming Summit.

The roadshow, which was dubbed “Diaspora Conference”, and held at the premises of the Summat Training Institute in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, attracted a seasoned crowd of Ghanaian professionals including Engineers, Medical Doctors, Financial consultants, Policy Analysts and IT Experts.

Thought-provoking presentations were delivered on Financial Services, Water Sanitation Environment, Mining Energy Oil & Gas, Tourism & Hospitality, Governance, and Health & Pharmacy, interlaced with vibrant discussions on issues at stake.

A comprehensive report on the dialogue at the Diaspora Conference is expected to form part of the Ghanaian Diaspora in South Africa’s delivery at the July Homecoming Summit.

The Ag. High Commissioner Mrs. Florence Akonor, and the Officer responsible for Diaspora Affairs, Mrs. Elizabeth Dodoo were present at the Diaspora Conference to support the laudable initiative by the Ghanaian Professionals in South Africa.
