Ghana was followed by Botswana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone on the points table, with all three sides winning four matches each. Zambia, with four points from two wins, ended fifth, and was followed by Tanzania (two points) and Rwanda, who failed to register a win in the tournament.
The Ghana team has made Ghana proud, and the Ghana High Commissioner to South Africa, His Excellency Mr. Kwesi Ahwoi was on hand to convey first-hand congratulations to the team.
Earlier on, the Head of Chancery, Mr. Felix Nyarku and the Protocol Officer, Mr. Percy Nathan Swanzy, representing the Mission, donated cartons of energy drinks, water and fruits to the team.

The Under-19 Ghana Cricket Team who arrived in South Africa to participate in the ICC u19 cricket world cup qualifiers Championship from 10th to 20th September 2016, have emerged winners of the tournament.
The competition which was held in Benoni, South Africa saw Ghana compete with Sierra Leone, Botswana, Zambia, Tanzania, Rwanda and Nigeria. The Under-19 Ghana team won the ICC Africa Division 2 tournament in South Africa by remaining unbeaten in the seven-team competition. The victory allowed Ghana to qualify for the 2017 ICC Africa Division 1 tournament, which will serve as a platform for the competing sides to qualify for the 2019 ICC Under-19 World Cup to be hosted in New Zealand.
