Mr. Francis Yaw Osei-Sarfo, the Deputy High Commissioner of the Ghana High Commission in South Africa, welcomed a delegation from the Miss Ghana South Africa 2016 team, at the premises of the Mission on Monday, 29th August 2016.
The visit was a follow up to the successful holding of the Miss Ghana South Africa 2016 Pageant on Saturday, 27th August 2016, which was organized in partnership with the Ghana High Commission, and culminated in the crowning of Ms. Michelle Danso as the 2016 winner.
Led by Ms. Mavis Anim and Ms. Sheila Afari of the Miss Ghana South Africa Management team, the delegation explained that the purpose of their visit was to express gratitude to the Management of the Mission for the support and commitment towards the organization of the pageant.
The Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Osei-Sarfo, applauded the team for a well- organized event and also for using the pageant as a medium to project the image and culture of Ghana. He pointed out that such pageants are some of the positive ways that women can demonstrate their cultural heritage in a home away from away.
He encouraged the ladies to keep up the good work and congratulated the winner, Ms. Michelle Danso, and the first and second runner up, Ms. Hannah Adu and Ms. Nana Ama Agyeiwaa respectively.
Also present was Mrs. Sena Siaw-Boateng, Minister/Political & Economic, as well as other senior officials of the High Commission.
